Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

For those who don't already know, The Dark Knight was not Heath Ledger's last film before he died. It was actually Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus in which he overdosed. What's worse than that? He didn't even finish filming the movie! So, the writers had to change the story a bit, instead of scrapping the project. I must admit, it worked out great! The movie already involves a magic mirror, so why not use magic as an excuse to change the appearance of his character? To fill in Heath Ledger's spot was: Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell. I had to question who I was looking at for part of the film. They all look so similar! Except Farrell, I was able to pick him out.
I still can't decide just what I thought about this movie...Was it absolutely dreadful? Another "okay" movie that I'll soon forget? A beautiful masterpiece? I can't figure it out. I'm still in-between hate and love. One of the reasons I'm hesitant in giving it two thumbs-up, a golden star sticker, and a huge grin covering my face is because of this: dialogue. I felt it was...Lacking. There were times I was raising my brow, wondering what in the Heck they were blabbering about. They did not do a very good job in pronunciation and being loud enough. Maybe it was their accents that confused me; I don't know. The visuals were intriguing when they walked through the magic mirror into another dimension that thrived on their imagination. And how they combined two minds into a single thought was interesting. I was not expecting the story to end like it did. But then again, did they change the ending because of Heath Ledger's death? They were probably planning on something else, but when he left the picture and couldn't finish filming, they had to rewrite the last part. Still, it wasn't a too terrible idea. Not everything can be happily-ever-after.

For any questions....

I use imdb.com if I ever want to know anything about a movie. They have upcoming movie details, actors, trivia, etc. It's a great site!
Another website I go to is rottentomatoes.com for movie reviews. You can go on and comment various movies, then rate it out of 100%. I believe if it's above 70% it's considered a "fresh" movie. But if it's below 70% that movie is "rotten." If I can't decide what movie to watch, I check this site to see which one has the best ratings!

District 9

Now, when I heard that Peter Jackson was going to help make a Halo movie I was psyched!! I've read most of the books and have played the game many times. Unfortunately, he dropped the project...To create District 9 with new talent, Neill Blomkamp. But, even though I was very upset about Halo being pushed back who knows how long, I had faith in Jackson that this movie wouldn't disappoint me.
The film starts out kind of slow...With interviews from various people talking about the alien crisis. District 9 is mix between a regular sci-fi action film and a documentary. I was a little confused at first, but after awhile everything started coming together. I was impressed by the main character Wikus, played by the unknown actor Sharlto Copley. He was a fun and quirky guy that you can't help but to like. I hope that he'll pursue an acting career, I'd love to see him in more movies.
However, I did not find the storyline very original. I felt like I had seen the movie before, only now with aliens.
Not everything was perfect, but I really enjoyed watching District 9. I would recommend going to see this if you haven't already!

Conan O'Brien

I normally am not a fan of talk shows, but I have recently been introduced to Conan O'Brien. He is my favorite to watch! Craig Ferguson may be Scottish and hilarious with his standup, but I don't watch his show. Jimmy Fallon is a failure. He's good at improv, but not at being a host. And Jay Leno...Well, I haven't given him a chance.
Anyways, awhile ago Conan hosted the Emmys! This intro of his is amazing. He jumps around from TV shows attempting to get there. Not only does it have him, but some of the best TV characters! Watch, and be amazed :D

Transformers 2: The Fallen Tradegy...

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS

To start out with, I'm sorry if anybody loves Transformers. Because I pretty much hate this movie. So many people were simply impressed by the graphics. Which, I must admit, Micheal Bay did an impressive job! But other than that, it's terrible...The "plot" has various flaws, it's not realistic, so many pointless sexual references, etc.
I could go on and on why the plot doesn't make sense to me. First of all, is how half the movie they are trying to bring Optimus Prime back to "life." How come Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) can't use his shard of the cube to bring him back? And yet the Deceptacons steal a shard from the military base and use that to bring back Megatron. Instead, Sam and his girlfriend Mikaela (Megan Fox) along with others, travel around the world to find a key. That they hope will revive OP, their last hope of saving mankind. Maybe I missed something that could explain this...?
Now to point out its lack of reality. With so many people running around, how come nobody was crushed to death? These huge metal robots are fighting each other constantly, destroying trees, buildings, cars, and so on. And everybody else is running underneath them. Now I didn't watch this movie expecting a blood-bath, but honestly? Somebody should've died. Has anybody seen the original King Kong? Many people were crushed to death when he was WALKING around. The only injury throughout the movie (besides Sam temporarily dying), is the burn on Sam's hand. The reason for this, is because Shia got into a car accident and injured his hand. They had to cover it up, only because it was a real-life injury.
Normally, I don't mind sexual references. I've seen movies that thrive on this, such as Superbad, The Hangover, BASEketball, and many more. But this is an action film. If it happened occasionally, I couldn't care less. But for some reason, I felt the amount displayed in this movie was unnecessary.
These are just a few examples why I strongly dislike Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. I have more ;)

My favorite movies!

Here is a list of my top ten favorite movies :) However, they are not in any particular order.
1-Zoolander
2-Hot Rod
3-Watchmen
4-King Kong
5-Reign Over Me
6-Casino Royale
7-Defiance
8-Slumdog Millionaire
9-Anchorman
10-Gran Torino
Occasionally some of these change...I find it very hard to choose ten out of so many amazing movies!
